NYT Exercise (for topic-clarifying)
1) Go to the nytimes website and do a search for your topic.
2) Select 10 articles (preferably within a short time span) & read.
3) Respond (either with a comment, an image, whatever). The idea being that this might give you a narrower, more specific focus for your topic.

1) Pick 12 typefaces:
3 serif display
3 sans serif display
3 serif text
3 sans serif text
2) Design a 16-page type specimen book. Use text from something relating to your topic. Print to size,bound and bring to class. Take a look at the David Berlow specimen pdf.
