Choose ten articles from today’s, Tuesday, June 14, 2011, The New York Times, broadsheet (i.e. the printed paper; you may refer to the online version as well) and respond in graphic form. All graphic forms are acceptable.
Objectives:
1) your interests as determined by your choice of articles.
2) your particular contextual orientation as determined by article choices and responses.
3) your inventiveness with responses.
4) your design skills.
5) your technical and hand skills.
Process:
1) Choose your articles.
2) Read the articles and do extensive research on the topics.
3) Narrow down to ten solid concepts.
4) Figure out appropriate visual direction for each individual response.
5) Create numerous variations for each.
You are expected to have 10 finished pieces done and be ready to present by next class. You may bring in previous drafts if you find it necessary or relevant for discussion. Please post the progress on your personal blog and comment on each other’s work.
